Yamini is the India Lead for Gender Equality, India Country Office, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In this role she leads the foundation’s new work to implement the their Women’s Economic Empowerment strategy, and build gender data and evidence to foster gender transformative programming. She served for 4 years as Senior Program Officer, Measurement, Learning, and Evaluation at the India Country Office managing research and evaluations in the health systems, and community mobilization portfolios.
Yamini’s career has spanned 18+ years of research, evaluation, and capacity building in gender, health, and education, and economic development. Yamini has a PhD from Emory University where her work focused on economic development, rural-urban labour migration and employment of young women, and transformation of gender relations.
