About Stella Tambunan

Stella’s interest for impact investing flourishes during her time at Principia/Quvat Management Group, an Indonesia-focused private equity firm when she managed the firm’s charity funds.

Graduated with honors in Industrial Engineering from Institute of Technology, Bandung in 2006; she then completed her MBA at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 2012.

She was part of the Wharton Social Impact Fund and had spent a summer interning at Grameen Bank in New York City. Both organizations provided her with first-hand experience in developing social enterprises. Since 2014, she is also part of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community in Jakarta.

With a lifelong passion in education, Stella started her involvement in YCAB as a member of YCAB’s Young Advisory Board while she was working for the International Finance Corporation. Her investment focus in IFC was in the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services sector in East Asian countries, which includes investing in education related firms. She then joined YCAB as a Treasurer/Group CFO in July 2017.
