Ms. Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan is a career bureaucrat from the prestigious generalist Indian Administrative Service of the 2002 batch. She served in one of the leading states of India, viz., Tamil Nadu for 9 years in various field administrative positions with about 2.5 million people directly under her jurisdiction.

She served in the Ministry of Finance in the Government of India for 6 years handling the expenditure, budget, multilateral projects and Bilateral Investment Treaty desks at various time periods. She was appointed to the NITI Aayog in October, 2017 as Director. The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) is the Indian Government’s premier policy think-tank which advises the Prime Minister. She is currently handling the Human Resources Development portfolio of NITI Aayog. She co-created the “Sustainable Action for Transforming Human capital- Education Track II {SATH-E: Track II} project with all stakeholders in her current capacity.

Ms. Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan is a gold medalist for her postgraduate Economics course from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has completed her MPhil in Bilateral Investment Protection Agreements in India.
