Patrick is an entrepreneur, mentor and facilitator of business. He started his career as a labourer, then qualified welder at Cape Gate Fence and Wire Works. He went on to complete his matric and later studied and completed his MDP diploma at Peninsula Technikon, now known as the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He then joined Nedsteel in 1973 and after almost eighteen years, he started his own company and in 1994 - the year of South Africa’s first democratic elections - he bought Nedsteel, the very company he worked for.
Over the past two decades, Patrick has started and managed a number of businesses, resulting in a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship and private equity. He has served on numerous boards and is actively involved in Civil Society, having served a host of NGO’s over the years.
Patrick has won numerous accolades over the span of his career. These include a Loerie Award for Recognition of Achievement, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the ABSA / Cape Times Emerging Business Person of the Year Award. He also won the IMM Business to Business “Emerging Marketer of the Year Award” two years in succession. Patrick is currently concerned with new business investments and development within the ParEquity Group, public speaking, mentorship and coaching.
