An achieved business woman, experienced banker and dedicated philanthropist, Serena Kao is the current chairwoman of San Teh Foundation, a family with three generations of philanthropic work in China, Taiwan and Singapore. Serena is also the founder and chairwoman of GoPurpose. GoPurpose, a marketplace consisting of collaborated retail vendors and online platform, to support products made by businesses that are sustainable and accountable to the environment. GoPurpose believes in using the sustainable business model as a force of doing social good to create job skills and various sustainable solutions for our people in this planet. It facilitates the flow of capital to those who aim to improve our world by serving as a marketplace. Using the concept of circular economy for social good, GoPurpose primarily goals align with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focusing on SDG no#3, 4, 8, ,12, 13 and 17. Especially focusing on solutions and education for health and well-being to combat climate change.
In 2015, Serena Kao was appointed as a co-chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) Singapore. She is also a board member of the SDSN Northern Europe Leadership Council and a board member of the Nanyang Technological University Singapore Sustainability Symposium (S3). Over the years, Serena has been invited by JP Morgan, UBS, Credit Suisse, ABM Amro, NTU, Chinese Philanthropy Organizations in China, and various business and youth organizations including NEXUS and family business networks to speak to them.
