Jen transitioned into the world of philanthropy after working in the finance industry for almost two decades. She is the Director of Philanthropic Engagement at Legacy Advisors, a thriving Family Office in Hong Kong.
In this role, Jen works on the many varied portfolio of investments in Legacy's philanthropic spectrum. The entities range from the grant-making Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation, to the non-government organisations of Bring Me A Book (Hong Kong chapter) and Vision For A Nation; to Adlens, a commercial company with a social soul. Her focus is the strategy and execution of initiatives to increase the reach and impact of the portfolio. Jen is on the Board of Governors of Bring Me A Book and serves as Strategic Advisor on the Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation - both focusing on the promotion of early childhood literacy.
In 2009, Jen founded the Otto Wong Brain Tumour Centre at the Chinese University of Hong Kong after the sudden passing of her husband from a ruptured brain tumour. The Centre focuses on research, patient care, surgical developments and treatments. Since its launch, the Centre has introduced a new standard of care in the Hong Kong Hospital Authority for the treatment of the brain tumours. The highlight of the calendar is an annual fundraiser at the Peak called "Brain Trek".
Jen's major achievement is being a mother of three active boys. Encouraging them to learn, to inquire and to read has been the most rewarding journey.
